Tell your Rep. to join the Tlaib-Pocan letter to the Department of State

Dear Burhan ,

Last year, Congress sent eight letters to the Trump administration about different Palestinian rights issues. The Trump administration ignored all of them. Now, the one and only Rep. Rashida Tlaib is leading the charge to get the Department of State to finally break its silence on Palestinian human rights. Rep. Tlaib has teamed up with Rep. Mark Pocan to lead this letter, and so far we have Congresswomen Marie Newman, Betty McCollum, and Ayanna Pressley as original co-signers.

Send a message to your Representative now, and ask them to join the Tlaib/Pocan sign-on letter to Secretary of State Blinken about Palestinian rights.

The subject of these eight letters ranged from Israel's denial of COVID vaccinations for Palestinians to home demolitions and more. While we're heartened that there was so much concern from Congress last year, it was frustrating that the administration never engaged. Instead, the Trump administration rammed through some of the most harmful policies the US government has ever inflicted upon the Palestinian people.

We'll be honest: so far, the Biden administration has been disappointing. From its insistence on keeping the US Embassy in Jerusalem instead of moving it back to Tel Aviv, to opposing the International Criminal Court's investigations into Israel's crimes -- we're not impressed. But we know that there is an opening for engagement, and we have to seize this opportunity. With Palestinian-American Congresswoman Tlaib leading the way, we feel optimistic.

Please take a minute to ask your member of Congress to join Rep. Tlaib's letter to the Department of State.
