to Learn About their Movement for Changewith Mesarvot, the Refuser Solidarity Network, and Objector Impact Project

All Israeli citizens are eligible for mandatory military service, with certain exceptions for ultra-Orthodox and Palestinian citizens of Israel. In Israeli society, military service and conscription are glorified and idolized.
Many serve in the West Bank and Gaza to continue the occupation of Palestinians, in military checkpoints, night raids on Palestinian families, and overseeing demolitions of Palestinian homes.
On this virtual delegation, spend time with Mersavort, a network of Israeli activists that supports conscientious objectors in their refusal to become soldiers and take part in the occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people.
Our Virtual Delegations at the beginning of May will highlight the Israeli military refusal movement. During the tour, you will:
Spend time with the Shministim, a group of high school students who declare out loud their refusal of military service
Meet young leaders in the movement and hear their stories
Accompany refusers on their enlistment day
- Join a support protest - standing strong against backlash from Israeli public

"The military is a violent, corrupt, and corrupting institution to the core. But its worst crime is enforcing the destructive policy of the occupation of Palestine. Young people our age are required to take part in enforcing closures as a means of "collective punishment," arresting and jailing minors, blackmailing to recruit "collaborators" and more. Violent military rule in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is enforced through policies of apartheid entailing two different legal systems."
