Join AMP, August 6th @ 6:30PM EST for our 11th educational webinar, "Determined To Stay: Palestinian Youth Fight for Their Village"
Dear Burhan,
The discourse about Palestine and Palestinians in the United States is largely one of dehumanization. The intimate stories of Palestinian suffering go unheard and unlearned. In "Determined to Stay: Palestinian Youth Fight for Their Village," author and teacher Jody Sokolower takes all of us on a tour of Palestinian life in Silwan, touching deeply on the lives of families, particularly the youth and children.
Moreover, she beautifully interweaves the intersectional and transnational narratives of indigenous and marginalized struggles in the United States. The American people will gain a profound, not to mention personal, understanding of the daily lives of Palestinians living in Silwan, and how Silwan is representative of the larger Palestinian story of ongoing land theft, dispossession, and resistance. Indeed, she vividly shows why and how Palestinians are determined to stay.
On Friday, August 6th, join us at 6:30 PM EST for this profound webinar where I will be hosting a live discussion on Facebook with the author of "Determined To Stay: Palestinian Youth Fight for Their Village."
Jody Sokolower is a former middle and high school teacher, current teacher educator, and co-coordinator of the Teach Palestine Project at the Middle East Children's Alliance.
Please click here to RSVP and share this webinar on your social media and be sure to invite your friends and family to join us.
We look forward to having you join us Friday, August 6th, @ 6:30 PM EST.
Sincerely,
Tarek Khalil Education Coordinator
